Il sogno di un nuovo Campionato del Mondo ed Europeo 100 km su strada, dopo quello di Tarquinia nel 2008, si fa sempre più vicino ed imminente e già si intravedono i segni di una grossa mobilitazione genrale di tutte le risorse da mettere in campo. A Seregno proseguono incessanti i lavori per la realizzazione del Campionato Mondiale che si svolgerà domenica 22 aprile 2012: e si fa sul serio per non lasciare nulla al caso. Proprio nei giorni scorsi, la manifestazione è stata presentata agli Stati Generali del Turismo in Brianza, convocati dal Sindaco di Seregno, Giacinto Mariani.

E' iniziato il conto alla rovescia verso la Cento Chilometri di Seregno 2012 che si svolgeranno il 22 aprile 2012.  Seregno fa sul serio. E va di corsa verso la Cento Chilometri del prossimo 22 aprile che assegnerà i titoli individuali e a squadre per nazioni di campione del mondo ed europeo di ultramaratona (ciascuna rappresentativa  nazionale potrà essere composta al massimo da 18 atleti).

Il conto alla rovescia è iniziato nella suggestiva cornice della Villa Reale di Monza, in occasione della convocazione degli Stati Generali del Turismo della provincia di Monza-Brianza, presenti il sindaco di Seregno Giacinto Mariani nonché gli operatori del settore.

Alla “due giorni” di Monza intorno al tema “Turismo made in Brianza”, con l’assessore provinciale Andrea Monti a fare gli onori di casa, hanno preso parte ospiti illustri della filiera turistica da docenti universitari a politici, da esperti del settore a rappresentati di enti portatori di esperienze eccellenti. Due giorni di dibattiti (10 e 11 febbraio), presentazioni, case history, relazioni per favorire un nuovo modo di pensare al turismo a Monza e più in generale in Brianza.

Nel contesto delle iniziative approntate per riscoprire la cultura del fare, tipica della Brianza, si inserisce a pieno titolo la Cento Chilometri di Seregno, ultramaratona organizzata da Comune di Seregno in collaborazione con ASD Marciacaratesi e con il patronato di IAU (International Association of Ultrarunners), IAAF Athletics (International Association of Athletics Federations), WMA (World Masters Athletics), CONI – Comitato Regionale Lombardia, FIDAL (Federazione Italiana di Atletica Leggera) e IUTA (Associazione Italiana Ultramaratona & Trail).

«La cento chilometri in Brianza è un’esperienza straordinaria – ha dichiarato il sindaco Giacinto Mariani nel suo intervento a Monza - capace di unire, in un mix inedito, sport e cultura: la presenza di centinaia di atleti provenienti da oltre quaranta nazioni potrà, infatti, essere un importante “traino” per lo sviluppo del nostro territorio, per far conoscere da vicino a squadre e spettatori le strade e i luoghi della nostra terra in un percorso che si snoda tra il verde e alcuni centri cittadini».

La gara iridata si svolgerà lungo un circuito stradale di venti chilometri da percorrere cinque volte che attraversa le vie del centro di Seregno e i territori dei comuni di Cabiate, Carate Brianza, Verano Brianza e Giussano.

It is the first time that on our territory we host a track event valid for the World and European title. This is a goal that we conquered step by step thanks to an enthusiasm for a sport that fascinates and manages to create a climate of involvement.
Sunday, April 22nd , 2012 athletes and spectators will experience a unique feeling.
Unique and invaluable just like the emotion of someone who crosses the finish line.
They compete to win but also to “be there”: to be protagonists of an event that brings people and cultures from all over the globe.
To the athletes who want to participate to raise the level of their challenges we can offer our support, our encouragement and the “polished-family welcome” of our people.
For the fans, the athletes and the public that will follow, curiously, from the roadside the event and their favorite runners we guarantee a wonderful and exhilarating show that only a competition of  international caliber can reserved.

(Manuela Berti,  Event Director) After years of hard work, the commitment and determination that I employed together with the Organizing Committee were rewarded as on the date of April 22nd , 2012, Seregno will host the 26th IAU 100 km World Championships, the 21st IAU 100 km European Championships and the WMA 100 km World Championships.
The Ultra runners will be gratified by the lap of the 100 Kilometres that will bring them, through 5 laps, in the Brianza territory.
The gratification will not be only for the athletes but also for all the spectators that will assist to other races and events like the Flag Parade of the National Teams that will animate the city centre the day before the race.
Athletes and their guests will be accommodated in suggestive tourist centres.
Together with the LOC I hope to be rewarded by your enthusiastic and numerous participation, and I await with trepidation to welcome you personall

(Giorgio Molteni,   ASD Marciacaratesi, Race Director) After only four years, since the last World Championship held in Tarquinia, the world of the hundred kilometers is back in Italy, in Seregno, City of the Brianza territory, where the passion and enthusiasm for this Ultra marathon race have always been high.
We expect all the runners on a flat circuit within the territory of Seregno and the near cities, many co-workers will be on the lap to guarantee the perfect development of the race and to demonstrate their happiness to the athletes taking part at the Event.
All the organizers will do their best to make this day of sport unforgettable to the many athletes from all over the world and to leave an indelible memory in their hearts of our Seregno, of the Brianza and of Italy.
