This year the Mont-Blanc Marathon is celebrating its 10th anniversary! It has come a long way since the first Mont-Blanc Cross in 1979. Races for children, the 10km, as well as the Vertical Kilmoeter race, the last one born from a weekend dedicated to nature races. The valley of Chamonix Mont-Blanc has clearly positioned itself as a key player in trail running.
The only mountain race in the National Trail Running Salomon/Endurance Mag Cup , the Mont-Blanc Marathon weekend regroups passionate trail runners from 5 continents with over 5200 athletes and 50 nationalities.
The quality of the trails, the fervor of the local population, a breathtaking panorama give the different races a rare emotional dimension. We are very proud, year after year to see the enthousiasm and number of trail runners interested in our event, pretty soon runners will have to be as fast to reserve their race bib as they are to finish," said Fred Comte, Director of the Club des Sports de Chamonix.
